I'm actually pretty close to there
Got the note in the letter box saying NBN is commencing in the area.
Trying to find a link to where the nodes are to see the distance between node and house. anyone know a site which has them all as points on a map ?
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) quality > E
This is the lowest ADSL quality rating as the average speed of ADSL services delivered over the copper network in your area are low when compared to ADSL services available in other areas.
The estimated median ADSL speed for your area is (Mbps): 1.76
I wonder if its going to be even worth getting given the quality of the copper here =(
Thats so fucking shit dave, i feel real bad for ya. And if i am remembering correctly, your connection issues only happen on ps2? Or was that viper?
my connection is reasonably stable to ps2. its just overall poor in connection latency
EDIT:This was the speed I was getting at my last house...
Got my NBN hooked up today. Certainly not as fast as what I was hoping, but better than what I was getting. I'll have a look at a couple of things on my end over the next couple of days to see if I can do something to improve it. I am literally the last house from the node though, so I was never going to be perfect.
Not sure why it's saying Dodo, as I'm with iPrimus.
even still, more than double the download and 10x upload is good.
ripper, yours looks mint now compared to the old place.
After 4 years of it I got used to those shit speeds. Loving the new connection, but dealing with Telstra has been a nightmare (25+ hours of phone calls to get the service up and running.)
Can anyone in Aus top this?
If only I was still at the ATO - then I'd spank you...... but for now holy shit that's quick
Guess who just upgraded to the NBN master race
enjoy the dropouts
It got hooked up 5 hours ago and I have already had one... also we have no phone dial tone either
FTTN or FTTP?
I should be moved over to NBN any day now, hoping I win the NBN roulette with no dropouts.
NBN is now in my area. Since I'm around 500m to the nearest node I'm wondering if its even worth getting.
My shit interest has actually improved a tiny bit, which I'm guessing is from less congestion at the local satellite tower. Can we justify paying almost double the amount per month for no real guarantee that the speeds or connection will be any better.
Anyone else out there a similar distance from their nearest node and what speeds do you get?
I'm virtually on the edge of my exchange, as far as possible from the node, so as soon as it's up and running, I'll let you know.
My max speed on ADSL2 atm is 500-600kb/s
I'm literally the furthest house in one direction from my node. About 600m. I went from 10 Mbps download and 0.8 up, to 25 download and 10 up. Also we have very few dropouts, other than some issues a couple of months ago which was caused by an actual fault that they came out and fixed relatively quickly. So while I certainly don't get the speeds that some others get, overall I can't really complain. Well, other than the obvious of it being FTTN instead of the FTTP that we should all have been getting.
We are about the same, eons away from the local exchange, max 880kbs download speed.
Also paying for line rental because reasons...
